All About The Rocky Top Wine Trail

In 1989, Don Collier began research on the possibility of a winery in the foothills of the Great Smoky Mountains. In 1991, Mountain Valley Winery opened its doors as the first winery in the area. Following that, a second winery opened at the Apple Barn and Cider mill in 1994. Lastly, Hillside Winery opened in 2007.

Shortly after that, the wineries got together and decided to form the first wine trail in the State of Tennessee. While there are now several wine trails in Tennessee, the Rocky Top Wine Trail is still the largest in the entire state. Offering a free wine trail or a paid VIP tour option, the Rocky Top Wine Trail is a must stop if you are in the area!
